There is little doubt that cultural arts resources provide significant contribution to the quality and economic vitality of a community. There is also little doubt that the financial resources required for improving, or even simply adequately maintaining, the status and position of arts and cultural resources can be substantial. It often requires a significant commitment on behalf of the community to support its cultural arts resources. While such support may come in many forms, financial support is perhaps the most important because it helps to ensure the short-term vibrancy and the long-term viability of these valuable resources in the community.
This aspiration presents data and information for two indicators, which are listed in the grey panel on the right side of this page. Specifically, the two indicators within this aspiration report the following:
- Federal, state & local funding for the arts: Information on arts funding from all levels of government
- Private funding for the arts: Information on private funding of the arts from various sources
