Representative Leadership
Representative Leadership

Diversity is seen in many areas of the city, and therefore, it is important that people of all backgrounds are represented in positions of leadership, both in the private and public sector.  These leaders serve as role models and voices for their demographic, ethnic, or socioeconomic communities.  Failure to provide leadership opportunities to women and minorities could potentially cause talented individuals to choose to serve in communities in regions other than the Dallas region.

This aspiration presents data and information for six indicators, which are listed in the grey panel on the right side of this page.  Specifically, the six indicators within this aspiration report the following:

  • Leadership diversity among top companies: Information on corporate diversity in the Dallas area, as noted in Fortune’s Top 100 DFW companies, companies in the Dallas PMSA appearing in the Fortune 50 Best Companies for Minorities list, companies headed by women in the Dallas PMSA that appear in the Fortune 500 list, and companies in the Dallas PMSA that appear in the National Association of Female Executives’ Top 30 Companies for Executive Women
